Hannah Trulock
Co-Director
Hannah was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where she began her ballet training at age 3 with her mother, Nancy Schenck. She later attended the Grand Rapids Ballet School directed by Laura Berman, and performed featured roles with the Grand Rapids Ballet School Junior Company, as well as later performing alongside Grand Rapids Ballet Company. Hannah competed in the Youth America Grand Prix and placed in the Top 12 in the Senior Division. She attended summer programs at Southland Ballet Academy, V & T Dance, Ballet Chicago, Grand Rapids Ballet, Ballet Met, and Indianapolis School of Ballet.
Mrs. Trulock then completed her training in Indianapolis, Indiana. Featured roles include Snow Queen, Arabian, Marzipan Lead, and Dew Drop in The Nutcracker. She was chosen by Balanchine repetiteurs to perform works such as Concerto Barocco, Serenade, and Raymonda Variations, and has had the pleasure of training under ballet greats; Victoria Simon, Nilas Martins, Sandra Jennings, Dan Duell, and Melinda Roy to name a few. Hannah also worked as a model for Motionwear Dancewear at their headquarters in Indianapolis. Hannah served on Indianapolis Ballet faculty as an instructor, and performed company and guest artist roles for Indianapolis Ballet, Dance Kaleidoscope, and Grand Rapids Ballet.
Since moving back to Michigan, Hannah further established her career as an instructor and choreographer at Ada Dance Academy for 5 seasons, with a specialty in pointe and partnering. Her students and choreography won title acknowledgments at competitions, and multiple special awards.
Mrs. Trulock was then appointed Ballet Director of LoMI Studios, and developed their ballet program and curriculum. While with LoMI, Hannah choreographed an in-studio performance of Nutcracker Excerpts, choreographed, narrated, and directed The Three Little Pigs, A Ballet For Kids, and worked as the local performance contact to build an outreach program. She connected with the community to set up performances in 7 different locations for the students over the course of 6 months.
Hannah credits her greatest achievement as being a mommy to her son, Wesley.
She is so happy to Co-Direct Verity with her perfect dance partner and husband, Noah, whom she married in August 2017.
Noah Trulock
Co-Director
Noah Trulock first fell in love with the arts by becoming involved in colorguard at the age of 15.
He discovered his talent for dance, performance, and choreography, touring and performing seven summers with several world class drum corps. Accomplishments include several silver and gold medals at the world championship level.
Mr. Trulock received his formal ballet, ballroom, and contemporary dance training at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, where he was born and raised. Through the IU ballroom team, he competed nationally and received silver and bronze medals in the Latin Ballroom Collegiate National Finals.
After his versatile training in many modern and contemporary dance techniques, he studied on scholarship at The Martha Graham School in New York City. Noah danced professionally at Dance Kaleidoscope in Indianapolis, IN, where he moved through the ranks from apprentice to principal dancer. His award-winning choreography has been performed by Dance Kaleidoscope's professional company, and students across West Michigan.
Mr. Trulock brings to Verity Ballet twenty years of teaching experience in over twenty states across the US.
Noah feels blessed to Co-Direct Verity, and is inspired daily by his loving wife, Hannah, and their son, Wesley.
Kennedy Pfieffle
Preschool Division
Kennedy Pfeiffle has been dancing since she was a little girl. She was trained in ballet, contemporary, jazz, and tap at Ada Dance Academy, and was member of their competition team for 5 years. Miss Kennedy was part of the West Michigan Youth Ballet for 4 seasons, under the direction of Stephen Sanford and Laura Berman, and spent a summer with the Sarasota Cuban Ballet in Sarasota, Florida, under the direction of Ariel Serrano.
Kennedy was also an active member of her high school theatre program, and went on to choreograph for shows including “Pinkalicious” and “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown”.
Currently she is a senior at Grand Valley State University, finishing her degree in Public Relations and Advertising, and is an older sister to six younger half siblings. When she's not doing homework, you can find her at Verity taking classes and rehearsing for shows.
Kami Koetsier
Summer Faculty: Preschool Division
Kamryn Koetsier was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan where she found her love for ballet at the age of 3. She attended Ada Dance Academy, where she received ballet, contemporary, lyrical, jazz, and hip-hop training. She danced on the Ada Dance Academy competition team for a few years before settling on her love for ballet and deciding to focus mainly on that style.
Miss Kami found a love and passion for performing on stage including competing in the Youth American Grand Prix and dancing in various ballet performances with the West Michigan Youth Ballet including, The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, and Coppélia. She enjoyed taking on many roles with her favorites being Arabian, Clown lead, and Spanish lead in The Nutcracker and Swanhilda’s Friends in Coppélia.
Kamryn is currently in school at Central Michigan University where she studies Communication Sciences and Disorders and American Sign Language. While being new to training, she is thrilled to share her passion and knowledge with Verity Ballet and inspire young dancers to grow in their love for dance.
Harlee Scholten
Summer Faculty: Jr/Teen & Children's Divison
Harlee Scholten has trained heavily in ballet, modern, contemporary, partnering, and pointe in her early training. Harlee studied at West Michigan Youth Ballet for ten years, under Jen Norder, Stephen Sanford, and Laura Berman. She also trained with HIS Dance Academy for nine years, under Tassia Johnson and Hannah Sullivan, and was a member of HIS Ensemble. Additionally, Harlee trained with Ada Dance Academy for three years under Stephen Sanford, Samantha Shelton, and Hannah Trulock. Harlee has performed in countless productions through HIS and WMYB, including dancing principal roles in The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Coppelia, Swan Lake, and many others. In 2019, she attended Grand Rapids Ballet’s summer intensive on merit-based scholarship, as well as competed in the world renowned Youth American Grand Prix. Currently, Harlee is pursuing a degree in both dance and exercise science at Hope College. She is studying a wide variety of dance genres, including ballet, modern, jazz, tap, and global dance under world renowned professors including Matt Farmer, Heather Cornell, and Julie Powell. She has performed in two of Julie Powell’s original pieces, in Dance 48 and Dance 49. She was named Julie Powell’s rehearsal assistant for the 2023-2024 season, specifically for her piece titled“Untethered”. Harlee is currently preparing for a trip to Paris, France in May of 2024, where she will dance and perform internationally with the Centre de Danse du Marais.
Harlee has gained teaching experience throught West Michigan at many studios, including HIS Dance Academy, Reverence Dance Academy, West Michigan Youth Ballet, LoMi Studios, and Verity Ballet. Harlee directed, choreographed, and costumed Reverence’s 2021 full-length production of Cinderella. Additionally, Harlee is a collaborator with the Grand Haven Musical Fountain. Specifically, she choreographed, coordinated, and danced as Elsa in the “Frozen Live!” musical fountain show that premiered in June of 2022. Harlee is currently the president of the Hope College Ballet Club, leading the organization, teaching weekly classes, and choreographing new works for the club’s bi-annual productions. Harlee is on West Michigan Youth Ballet’s board of directors, and she is currently working at Grand Rapids Ballet as their Dance Festival Coordinator.
